Everyone who has herpes has days that they shed the virus without symptoms. Those days can happen any time but are much more likely just before and after an outbreak.
To be safe, wait 3-4 days after all signs of a sore are gone.

I got diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about three years back, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I understand lots of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date other men again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/uCEOi everything got better.
Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This system gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

It is active when it is open and draining but to be safe I would be careful the entire time you have one.
