painful to touch or even look up. I have been placed on antiboitics Keflex and it has not worked for the first time. The doctor did bloods tests today. He found out I do not have a sore throat, or a tempreture as it is normal. I feel sometimes very feverish, and very unwell. Last night at my mothers house I had a dry cough. On Thursday this week I will be going in for an ultrasound for my neck.Does ultrasouds pick up anything that is mallignant? If if shows a lump as it will My next step that may be recomemded to me is a biopsy. Most of the time it feels like I have to flu even though I do not, as it is summer here in Australia, and I feel so run down. Last Saturday evening for the first time I started gasping for air, and found it hard to breath and I though I was going to die. My mother was there and so was mu Nephew Jamie, who is now 15. They were both worried for me at the time. If someone had Lymphoma, Hogkins or whatever, can you get a painful lump in your glands, as a cancer

nurse today told me some do and some do not, as everyone is different. I am also 13 days late with my period, and I am not pregnant. I may be going through menopause, as my mother wnet through it as 34 after the birth of by brother who is 10 years younger than me. Any advise. Leanne

It might just be a cyst. The sickness symptoms you describe could be caused by anxiety. You are stressed & worried.Get the ultrasound,and if recomended the biopsy. Get the problem taken care of. Meanwhile,try and relax.Right now you dont know anything so why worry.

my daughter has a pea size lump on her neck and they told me its her lymphnodes. the only time they would be concerned if there were a cluster of them. i know you arent her age but i feel size doesnt matter. and btw i have a pea size lump on my arm and its been there for years and as for the soreness if you keep touching it yea itll get sore. if you sit there and really really analize your body youll find a whole lotta stuff thatll freak you out, and the reason you may feel it is maybe you are sick or have a infection somewhere in your body. i wouldnt really worry unless it gets bigger. one more thing my son has a lump like that on his neck and again the doctor told me it was his lymphnodes. you do have them in your neck. dont worry so much thatll cause you to get sick. as for your period being late stress can make your period do that. good luck. and try not to worry.

The ultrasound will show if anything looks abnormal in the gland, and allow them to take a needle biopsy, which sounds like they need to do.

it would be wise for you to undergo biopsy testing to see what really that thing is, could be lymp nodes but we are not so sure, nodes tend to get painful and bloated if we have infections (coughs, colds, bruises, sprains) in our bodies which sometimes have occasional fever but mostly are not dangerous. biopsy will determine if you have more serious problem, but if the doctors gave you antibiotics i doubted that it is malignant, as antibiotics deals with infections. but still, seek medical help from another doctor to find out.

If its portable then I wouldnt hassle plenty yet at your next cehck up point out it to the generic practitioner and computer screen it interior the recommend time and make useful it doesnt strengthen in length or grow to be heat to touch
