I already posted about this one a while ago and here's a link http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArjzkWerAqUi.Jf1WeEemNjsy6IX?qid=20070220222229AA2UW7g
From the symptoms that I had before the only ones I have left are runny nose and sore (actually I'd say itchy throat and it itches right where the openings from the nose meet the throat). If i use a flashlight to look at my throat I can see 7-8 red sports on the back of it right behind the tonsils. It usually feels itchy at night or in the morning. Same thing with the runny nose and sometimes i get it at night. I followed what the guy told me on the link posted above and it didn't do anything at all. The spots won't go away or even get smaller. I've had this condition for about 5-6 weeks now. When I went to the doctor he said that i have reflux which is when stomach acid gets into the throat at night and irritates it. I read about it, and it got me thinking. Most people that have it can actually taste the acid at night i cant

also i dont have a heartburn and the pills that i've been taking for about 3 days don't seem to do anything either. i do not have hoarseness, trouble swallowing, throat mucus, chronic cough, none of those symptoms. i really thing the diagnose was incorrect. what could it be because im sinking in all the medical bills the i've been getting lately and im not going to another stupid doctor again.

Did the doctor give you medication for the acid reflux?
He should have, if you don't take it the reflux can actually eat away on your esophagus. Also go to the health food store and get yourself a bottle of Zinc Lozenges, they will help your throat right away. My daughter has acid reflux and when it happens she coughs and then her nose starts running. The doctor gave her medication and it helps.

Okay, "shotgunning" here, but in addition to "acid reflux," have you ever been dx'ed with copd or one of its forms such as ashtma, bronchitis or emphysema? Since your symptoms sounded like mine, I employed the "flashlight check" and found several white spots circled by red which tells me inflammation right off and infection. Pretty sure I have bronchial problems and do have an appointment with my pulmonary specialist as even a simple cold in my case can turn into a life threatening situation if not treated.
Do you by any chance use inhalers for asthma, bronchitis or emphysema? If so, and you are not gargling out the powders after treatment, you could have something known as "thrush" and can be treated by eating plain yogurt for a few days.
I can well empathize with you on constant doctor bills as even with health insurance, I often have to choose between doctor and dinner.
Really think you should see a doctor on this one despite the cost if you have a chronic lung disease, but you might want to try a free "pre-screen" at www.WebMD.com.
In the event these symptoms recur every three or four months or you have a hisory of bouts with bronchitis, asthma or pneumonia, go to www.copd-support.com and check out their chat room where you can ask live questions.
Am assuming you have tried Nexium, the little purple pill and other OTC offerings without resolution. Quite likely you will be given a prescription for antibiotics if Nexium, yogurt don't work and hey, do ya think 6 weeks is an unreasonable time for discomfort?
