It depend on whether or not you have a secondary infection. You would definitely have a fire-blood red throat and fever.

Mono can be a minor problem that 's over in a week - or a serious illness that destroys your health. I was sick and bed fast for six straight months. It ruined my immune system for years.

Don't play with it - go to your doctor if you feel sick.

Its defiantly possibly but that's not the main cause of it if you just a a cough and are fatigued then it might be a severe cold or a mild case of the flu. At any rate see your doctor mono isn't something to be fooled around with
