I have a bad cough and my chest hurts. I went to the doctos today and they said I had a sinus infection and gave me antibiotics, an antihistamine, and an antiinflamatory. I cough was hard I throw up. I think I have pnuemonia beause its all in my chest and not in my nose. Can the doctor hear pnuemonia in the chest, without needing an x-ray?

I have had pneumonia and the doctor could hear the fluid in my lungs...pneumonia can cause dizziness, headaches, difficulty breathing, excessive phlegm, fatigue....you could potentially have bronchitis. Bronchitis will hurt alot in the chest whereas pneumonia you feel alot of it in your back where your lungs are as well as your chest...it feels like you are drowning in mucus with pneumonia...I've had it five times...

No the doc cannot hear pneumonia. It is diagnosed by a chest x-ray. You have a sinsu infection and probably a pretty nasty cold that is causing your cough and chest pain plus the sinus drainage. Use the meds he gave you and if you do not start getting better in 3-4 days then call and update the doc.

yes, it sounds like it. I hope you get better. I had pnuemonia 3 times. 8, 12, 1 year ago. So, it's frustrating. I would see him again. especially if you get really, really thirsty.
