A balanced diet is important to general overall health, and would typically include 6-11 servings of grains and starches, and at least 3-5 servings of vegetables, and 2-4 servings of fruits. If you stick primarily with teh whole grain starches, and go for the higher numbers of vegetables and fruits, you should achieve better results. Hope this helps!

i love "fiber one" cereal!!! its total whole grain, all natural, some versions have a few extras like omega 3s or antioxidants. but most have a whopping 14gm of fiber per serving. so just have a bowl or 2 a day and you are 500% above the average person. throw in soy milk/blueberries etc and thats a few extra grams!
also an expensive type smoothie i like is called "blue machine" at my grocery store ralphs its usually almost $4/bottle! but it has 15gm per serving and the whole bottle is 2 servings.
this is the easiest and most efficient ways i've found to cram fiber into my diet!! sure sure all the experts say oatmeal, and have an apple....but c'mon those are like 3-5grams each!! the above 2 ideas give u way way more! (although i'm sorry to say the cereal i mentioned....does taste like cardboard plain....lol)
