Drink lots of water in the next week to keep yourself hydrated. Don't lock your knees while you stand up there (bend them a little between songs, or raise slightly on your toes). Focus on the director and what you've learned, rather than on the audience. It's a choir concert, you have tons of people up there with you as moral support....no worries. Oh yeah, remember to breathe!! Imagine in your mind how great it will feel when you are done and have done a really good job.

Close your eyes and think of a really wonderful place you'd like to be. Take several deep breaths. You can tell if you are breathing deeply because your lower abdomen will expand as you inhale and contract as you exhale. Feel your shoulders begin to relax and imagine yourself in your special place. As you begin to calm down, continue taking deep slow breaths and imagine a time when you sang beautifully and everything turned out perfectly. As you get in touch with that time and place, feel yourself relax and begin to get that satisfied feeling of a job well done. Pay attention to where you feel it in your body. Now, imagine getting on stage with your choir. You might begin to feel anxiety and just continue breathing thru it. Remember the feeling you had as you sang perfectly and replace the anxiety with that feeling of calmness and satisfaction. Say to yourself: I am singing perfectly. I am not afraid. My voice is beautiful. I am loved and cared about by my choir". And continue to breath. After a while you should feel better and will have desensitized your anxiety. When you get to your concert, take some slow deep breaths and close your eyes for a moment. Visualize singing perfectly and being at one with your choir-mates.

I was the leader of my choir so often used to sing a lot of solos. I used to get so terrified like weeks before. You can't really stop yourself from getting nervous. It actually helps you to sing more confidently. Even though you think your voice might sound shaky. But the only advice i can give is for you to try and think of something else.

Tell yourself that you are unafraid. You have wonderful friends who are gonna stick it with your through everything. You know what you are doing and know how to do it well. Just think about how everyone else feels the same way. You aren't alone and can talk to your friends! =]

When I have to dance in public, I have a focus point. Maybe to you focus on your director's shirt or blouse. Never look into the crowd.
