Heart disease is very common in woman but is not recognized as often as in men. The symptoms can be different than men and passed off as anxiety . My heart pain was in my right arm and jaw. If I hadn't gone to the hospital I'd now be dead. Always take chest pain serious and get help ASAP!

Heart disease is considered the number 1 killer of women in the US. That is why the American Heart Association has started the Go Red for Women program to increase women's awareness about the disease.

1) Black are more prone to heart disease.
2)Death rate is 1:2.
3)After menopause the incidence in black and white are virtually equal as they are more prone to hypertension, diabetes etc.
