Well it's up to you, but if you "cant give up meat" I don't think you'd be able to become a vegetarian because it's basically will power that makes you a vegetarian I bet alot of people on here who are now veggies or vegans will tell you that it was hard to transfer at first. Take it slow just start out one day a week for a month that you dont eat meat, then go onto to two and so forth. I just went straight to vegetarianism instead of taking it slow but hey if that works for you too then great.

What makes you think you are vegetarian if you eat meat? You are not. If you want gravy, you can make wonderful sauces without meat or use ready vegetarian gravy products together with meat soy or tofu products. Some are so good, you won't notice any difference.

You are not a vegetarian if you eat meat, but you can easily become one. My 12 year old and myself are (I eat fish maybe twice a year, strictly because I have food allergies and need the protein, which makes me pescatarian) My daughter is stricly veggie, mostly vegan. Being a veggie is easy if you dont complicate it. Simply do not eat meat or poultry or fish. Eat all of the other things that you enjoy, and find suitable meat substitutes, such as beans, legumes, whole grains, etc, and add lots of fresh fruit and veggies to your diet. Grilled portabello mushroom makes a great burger alternative. . You say you like your food with gravy. I make a yummy gravy with vegetable stock and milk, thickened with corn starch. We eat it over mashed potatoes. There are many wonderful foods out there-try something you have never had before. I love ruttabegga oven fries, and roasted turnips. Good luck.

Hey, why do think you are a vegetarian? do you like tofu? Do you drink soy milk, organic products? etc.I eat seafood, veggies, milk products and chicken. I'm not a vegetarian but I try not to cook with meat, but my family likes to eat home made hamburgers, meat loaf, fish, chicken; the only thing I don't cook is pork, because of the fat content and is not healthy.. I don't like steak. but I do eat ground meat and lots of cheese, vegetables, and fruits.
Will this help you decide if you are a vegetarian? I have tried tofu and soy milk but I rather the normal stuff. I think you are not a vegetarian because when you see a meat ad you get a craving of eating meat! I'm not a vegetarian but a nice meat picture won't do it for me. Do you still think you are a vegetarian?...

if you don't like the taste of meat, then don't eat it. if you like the taste of meat with gravy on it, then eat it. not everyone likes meat all of the time, but sometimes it's good to have. of course the food in the magazines is going to look great, it's being advertised, you are supposed to have that reaction. i personally wouldn't categorize you as a vegetarian (not like there is anything wrong with being one) you are just a person who doesn't really like meat.

If you haven't given up meat you are NOT a vegetarian.
But why are you all concerned about what to call yourself? If you're not into the whole animal rights crap, what does it matter. Eat what you want.
I love meat, however the older I get the harder it is on my digestive system so I have cut way, way back but I don't feel the need to label myself.

It's a habit, I understand what you mean. I was raised on burgers and chicken nuggets and pepproni pizza and all that good stuff. The medis shoves the images down our throats 24/7, it's hard. Well if you don't like the taste of meat, I think you're over the first hurdle, probably reminding yourself it tastes bad to you will help. Try vegeatrian meals like BOCA-I eat BOCA burgers, chicken, pizza, lasagna, suasage ect. there's no meat in it, tastes similar and most of all GOOD plus it looks just like normal food.

I am sure those who are so concerned about animal rights must be a bit concerned about "plant rights" also before promoting vegetarianism. Eating meat and/or vegetable is a decision based on nutrition ( and then may be taste ) and definitely not on "animal rights"
If you see it on TV and like it but dont like the taste when you eat, may be you can stop watching TV !!!

Well you either are a vegan or you aren't. If you can't give up meat then stay that way. No one is judging you because of it. I know I could never give up meat.. Not in a million years. But there's nothing wrong with being a vegan either. Do what you feel is right.
