Strep B is completely normal to have in your body. MAYBE you can get it from her if you don't have it already, but it won't do anything to you, and chances are you have it on you anyways. Strep B almost never causes any problems for anyone. The only danger is if you get pregnant, because it can cause serious infections in a newborn if it's in the vagina and gets on the baby during childbirth. But, you're a guy, right? :)
It is not the same strep that causes sore throats and other painful infections! It's called "B" because there is more than one type of strep. Most strep bacteria don't cause any infections at all. Strep A bacteria are the more dangerous ones, they're the kind that cause strep throat.
Anyways it's not something you should ever worry about coming in contact with. People have TONS of bacteria on them all the time, and strep B is often one of them. Don't worry about it!

Strep is highly contagious. You can get it from kissing her.
I think that sums up the sex portion of our talk here!
Please understand that Strep is not considered an STD. It's a virus like the flu. So you wouldn't want to kiss someone who has the flu or strep, and you wouldn't want to be sharing any glasses or utensils with them.
Okay? Not a disease. A virus. It'll pass - it's not permanent.

no it is not a std. It is just pelvic inflammatory disease, which is normal for most women to have, she can not spread it nor did she receive it from anyone, most women carry this gene in their body, I had it and the only dangers is when you are pregnant, if it is passed to your child it can cause then to have blood poisoning, and many other serious problems including death if mother is not treated., penicillin will cure this. you should not worry.
