If both parents are blood type A it is possible to have a kid of blood type O although it is VERY RARE. Blood genes comes in pair. If both the parents are AO type, (AO + AO). There is some possibility of a blood O child.

There is no proof that Blood O people tend to have more problem. The only problem is that they can donate blood to other blood types but cannot receive blood from other blood types.

A person carries two genes for blood type, one from each parent. The blood type you are is determined by which of those genes is expressed. Your parents may each be blood type A, but at least one of them carry an additional gene for type O. If a child inherits that gene, then they would have blood type O. The blood type O is the most common world wide, so simply from a numbers perspective, a sick person would be more than likely to have that blood type. However, if you adjust the illness rates to reflect the proper percentages, illness rates among all the blood types are fairly evenly distributed.
