If their was a battle on Iron Chef between these guys; who do think would win and why?

Emeril will win hands down, he has much more experience: he will have absolutely no trouble cooking several different dishes for hundreds of people in a short time.
Alton is more of a food reseracher and scientist: his methods are long, careful, tedious, cautious and meticulous. His skills are not suited for cooking several gourmet dishes in short time periods.
You are essentially comparing apples and potatoes.
What they have in common is an intense passion for food!

Alton Brown.
Alton will distract Emeril with a witty comment and then tie Emerils hands behind his back with a wet noodle. Emeril won't know what hit him. Then Alton will build a smoke house out of part of the set and use clothing from the judges to strain a reduction. Then he will use a camera boom to roast an entire cow over the burner flames.
Alton Brown is god.

Hard to say but probably Emeril because Alton is better at theory than actual cooking; I think. Love Alton's shows, though.

Alton Brown. He already hosts the show so he knows the layout of the kitchen, and if the judges had been on the show previously, he would have a better idea of what they were looking for. Plus, he would have all kinds of cool gadgets to use.
I respect Emeril but if you watch his shows, his plates are all kinda sloppy, and presentation counts big time!

that is a tough question emeril has good food while alton is more technical in the physics of cooking it would be tough i personally think emeril would win

Alton Brown has never worked in a restaurant I think he is the farest thing from a chef. he just makes TV shows.
