No. If that were the case, everyone would have it.

They do not know what causes diabetes and I don't think they ever will until they start thinking more intelligently about the symptoms they have always known. A little less arrogance, a little less averice and a genuine interest in the condition might get them somewhere ...it just doesn't happen and wont in this kind of society.
I believe worrying about catching diabetes from sexual intercourse might increase your likelihood of catching diabetes !
Don't believe everything you are told - there are a lot of idiots about who like you believe what another idiot told him.
I am sorry I do not believe Dorothy - I am sure some half wit doctor has told her all this rubbish, or she has read it in a book about diabetes ....I have youth onset diabetes melitus and have never suffered from blood pressure problems until my brain dead profiteering doctor prescribed me blood pressure tablets, I must have excellent blood pressure because I have stopped taking them and my blood pressure remains as good as it was before. Please do not believe the rubbish people tell you. Normal people suffer from high blood pressure too, but it is not a condition of being a normal person !!!!!!

Diabetes comes from about in 2 ways. Type 1 is a congenital defect, children are born with it. Type 2 is more common. Type 2 Diabetes comes about in adulthood. The pancreas releases insulin. Insulin opens cell receptors so that the cells can take in simple sugar for energy. There is no such thing as not eating sugar. Our bodies break everything but proteins into what is usable for it - and that is simple sugar. Of course, we also eat a lot of simple sugar - table sugar and fruits carry simple sugars already so, when we eat, we can easily overload our bloodstream with simple sugar. If we do this enough times over a course of time, the pancreas starts to give out and, in time, we develop diabetes. You can bring about diabetes by consuming too much food but, you can't catch it by having sex.

Although we don’t know exactly why some people develop diabetes, we know diabetes is not contagious. It can’t be caught like a cold or flu. Nor is it sexually transmitted. You can learn more about the myths and facts about diabetes here: http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-myths.jsp Hope this helps!

Please correct me if I am wrong,
Diabetes can truly be Genetic or Heretic, but contracting it through bodily fluids is not possible. It is a disease made up through the human genome factor. But in all fact and curiousity, a lot of todays diets, persay "fast food" is causing this problem in many that have not had any diabetic history in their family history tree.... care to elaborate?

No- you cannot get diabetes from sex. Risk factors for getting diabetes include older age, obesity, family history, prior history of gestational diabetes, physical inactivity, race/ethnicity, and impaired glucose tolerance. You can read more about diabetes here

no. if you're type 1 it's from family genes, and if you have type 2 that you get it from being obese and eating too much. I'm a type 1 12 year old diabetic and I got it from my dad.

Diabetes is not a contagious disease. Although technically I guess you could get pregnant from sexual intercourse and develop gestational diabetes.

No way. Where did you get that information? Diabetes has to do with your blood glucose levels, possibly your diet and physical activity (exercise). It is not an STD.
