What if she only has an angioplasty?

I have known people who go back to work in 3-5 days after angioplasty. I have known others that were back to work in 12 weeks. It all depends on why she is having the angioplasty. (e.g. did she have an actual heart attack, or are they just looking?)

Open chest surgery: again, depends on the reason. Anywhere from 2-16 weeks.

Open heart surgery: same story.

The reasons, symptoms, comorbid conditions (her general health), medications, her willingness to follow rehab instructions, and many other things play into the answer. Best of luck.

Would say w/ angioplasty she should be able to return to work with in a week or so. By pass surgery could be much longer..8 to 12 weeks. but you never know. My father had a bypass (quadruple) and never returned to work. It took weeks for him to get his strength back. Yet when he had his heart transplant he was playing golf in 2 weeks.

Every patient is different but I'd say about 6 weeks. Angioplasty I can't say, but obviously less than open heart.

She has to ask her surgeon about that. It depends on a lot of things that only he/she can tell her.
