The first thing you need to do is get yourself my favorite T-shirt!

The second thing you need to do is dump the ignorant fool! If he's snide enough to brag about deer hunting you're not going to be able to trust him to not also 'fix' your food.

You want, need and deserve a partner that's supportive of your lifestyle and not someone that's going to snark on you!

Well I've been a vegetarian for 14yrs now and have heard all the jokes and had all the questions. Some people are just to ignorant to respect others beliefs. Personally his comments aren't even worth getting upset over if that's the mentality of him. Just explain to him your feelings and let him know you do not wish to know what he has or planning on doing with regards to animals and if he carries on, show him the door.

My daughter is a vegan, I don't like meat as much as I used to only now and then, I do not like cruelty to animals, but you must remember that animals are in fact there to be killed, that is why there is a food chain, they kill and eat each other as do fish, and at the end of the day we are animals too look at how some of us kill and maim our own kind, and have done since the beginning of man, so no one has a right to jump on a high horse as we are all part of the human if not humane race, so you chose what you want to do do and leave others to chose for themselves, if you don't like their choice put up with it or, don't be friends anymore.

I hate people who boast about hunting, their so mean! I heard a kid say something very disturbing and disgusting. that animals are only here in this world for us to kill. What the hell do these parents teach their children? Thats disgusting, if anything, animals werent meant to be killed at all!

Men put their mouths in motion before their brains are in gear!!! This was very insensitive of him. He had no right to
A. Kill a defenceless animal
B. Tell you. (I'm a fellow veggie of 24 years!!!) xxx
Kitkat's right. xxx

Maybe he was just doing it to wind you up or is insensitive. Tell him you didnt appreciate it, I'm sure if he really cares for you then he wont go boasting about shooting something again.
I have to agree with Splodge too tho, I eat meat but I still love animals, you do come across really 'ooh look at veggie me'

I'm vegetarian too (for 15 years) and my opinion is that if he killed the deer to eat then that is acceptable. If he killed it just for fun then he's a complete shite.

Well as a non-vegatarian he has his rights to talk about and do what he wants (legally) with animals. You may not want to hear it, but then again, perhaps he may not want to hear you going on about animals suffering, but it is your right to do so. You made the choice to be vegetarian and you should stick to that, but other people have made the choice not to be and they should not have to tip-toe around you because of it

men are thoughtless buggers - it probably didn't occur to him, or he was just trying to wind you up. personally I know very few men that aren't wind up merchants - they only do it for a reaction. just ignore him or take the piss back - "wow you must be a really big scary hard man to shoot a defenceless animal that couldn't fight back - well done!" should do it

If he did it then he shouldn't have to hide it from you, however it sounds like he is just trying to wind you up, in which case he may not be the right one .
