I agree with the poster who said cheese. We greatly undervalue our cheeses in england. I recommend local artisan cheeses, there are some amazing sheeps cheeses in Northumberland that are not that well known.

Smoked fish - from smoked salmon, to kippers from craster, arbroath (ok we're stretching the bounds here) smokies. What about cromer crabs and amazing shimps from morcambe bay. Crabs from cromer and other amazing seafoods.

I would say we're really good at game too. Vennison is super and despite what some would have you belive our beef is the best around.

I know that this isn't really a food but we produce beers like no other nation and we should really be proud of them.

Ignoring specific traditional English dishes and looking at the broader picture, England is well known for its cheese production. There are literally hundreds of cheeses that originate from England, some of the common ones being Cheddar, Stilton, Red Leicester and Lancashire.

It is also well known for the hundreds of different desserts, fruit pies, cakes and biscuits that are now copied throughout the world.

England is not necessarily known for their culture specific foods, however, after visiting there, they do have the following: Lardy ( a pastry that lives up to its name), Minted lamb, again, just as it sounds, mint jelly braised on lamb meat, mentos mints come from England, and they also have something called Yorkshire pudding, that isn't pudding at all.....
