Are you sure that this item you are looking for starts with the letter "Q"?? I just looked through my food lovers companion looking for the answer for you and it is not in there. I am a chef by trade and I use this book as my bible and the only two items tht were fruit or veg were the quince and the quetsch which is a variety of a plum. Everything else listed was either a type of grain, cheese, or seafood.

So sorry I can't help you on this one.

Are you thinking of the grain quinoa? Or maybe the fruit quince?

cumquats? curds? Maybe it sounds like the letter q but isn't. I don't know of anything besides quince. Do you know what they look like, or if you eat them raw or cooked?
