Went to the dr. because my sinuses were hurting me so bad and he gave me ceftin an antibiotic plus another pill for coughing, drying up,ect. and now, I hurt all over can't hardly move, but, feel better mentally, but, everyone that has seen me ask me if I'm dying, I guess I'm really pale or something...and it's not like me to stay in the bed, didn't even work yesterday or today, and that is really unusual. Why do I feel worst physically hurting, like my ribs especially, if I cough, but, I feel like my fever is breaking because I'm waking up sweating. Am I getting better, or am I allergic to this medicine, because it really makes me feel like I've taken a drug for the kicks of it, but, don't act like it, if that sounds right....should I keep taking it, even though now, I feel like I'm hurting really bad and can't move all over, and see if it kicks in or should I stop it till Monday, I just started yesterday, and my college kids keep asking if I'm dying, I guess I look so bad

I had this crap a couple of weeks ago. Had a great day on a Saturday and woke up real sick Sunday morning. Doc called in an antibiotic on Monday. Can't rem what it was. Didn't go to work M-T-W and felt like crap. Stay in bed, take the meds, drink lots of water and some gatorade to replace electrolytes, stay warm and try to eat something like applesauce and dry toast. I suggest that bcs I felt to weak to even try to cook anything. I went back to work on Thurs but was feeling somewhat better. Had a major sinus inf which went to my chest, ribs were killing me from coughing so much and fever and chills. It's all from allergies. You can see the green pollen on everything. Hope you feel better soon and you will. But if you're not sure about the meds call your doc and ask. Soon as you feel up to it get out for a very short walk in the sun but not in the morning that's when the pollen is worse. Sunlight is good for you. Good Luck!

HEALING TAKES TIME. Sinus infection is a nasty illness and takes time to heal. If you do not clean out your sinuses you will get an infection soon again. Antibiotics are fine if you also take acidophilus. Antibiotics kills the bad bacteria causing the infection and the good bacteria in your guts necessary for your immune system and digestion. Kefir a super food is excellent too. Test your self after the antibiotic if you have a yeast infection (See source.)

I just worked with a friend doing EFT and a lot of stuff is being eliminating…sometimes there are underlying causes and yes he had dental work done too. He is on Oil of Oregano and essential oils to battle the infection. He uses cayenne to clean his nose. Steams with eucalyptus and rosemary and it is slowly getting better…He is also going through a lot of emotional issues and feels that the EFT is helping him quite a lot with dealing with issues which he put away for so long….( Maybe in his sinuses- is a joke).

For dental infection use topical ½ clove of garlic…it hurts and it heals, try it for 10 minutes 3 times a day if you can. Increase your water intake avoid sugar. Try a liquid vegetable diet for a few days ad increase Vitamin C. See source for many articles to improve your health in this condition.
Good luck and take time to heal. For more practical tips see soure

Allergic reactions cause symptoms such as itching, rashes, puffiness, hives, and sometimes diarrhea. An allergic reaction does not cause paleness or aching feelings.

Ceftin can cause side effects that affect blood cell numbers, but it is not a common side effect, and unlikely to occur after only one day. Its likely you are flattened by the infection, but maybe you are not dealing well with the medication. You might call the pharmacist where you got your prescription and see if any of these symptoms are side effects.

it is difficult for anyone to tell you what you should or shouldn't do in the case of stopping the antibiotic, ceftin. you should contact the doctor that prescribed it to you.
your aches could be related to the infection, flu/cold. the rib pain also could be related to the upper respiratory infection going on. drink plenty, plenty of water. this will loosen and thin out mucous in your sinus/nasal, chest area and keep you hydrated. have one of your friends assist you if you are too weak. good luck..

Hi Great Listener

THis recipe will clear the issue.

Recipe:Tomato Tea Cures

Spicy Tomato Tea: The #1 Remedy To Cure Severe Sinus Congestion

Writes Jean, "After drinking this tea hot, your sinus congestion will disappear REAL fast! All these ingredients not only work on the immediate symptoms, but also add vitamin C to fight a cold and garlic to fight infection."

Add 1 cup tomato juice, 1 tsp chopped fresh garlic, 1/2 tsp of hot sauce, 1 tsp lemon juice, and a pinch or two of celery salt for flavor. Heat ingredients and drink hot.

6/8/2006: Jean writes us again: "Really delighted that the tomato recipe is working so well for so many people. :) The reason I picked these ingredients is this: tomato and lemon juices for their high vitamin C content, hot sauce for its ability to clear out the sinuses, and garlic for its anti-bacterial qualities. In addition, all of these ingredients have many other properties that are extremely good for the body's ability to heal itself. If you also add worcestershire sauce and celery salt, you have a bloody mary without the vodka! :) The reason for heating it is obvious... the fumes from the hot sauce work their way farther into your sinuses, carrying the fumes of the anti-bacterial garlic with it. I drink this even when I'm not sick, as I love the taste. :)"

11/7/2006: Jean writes: "Amended for greater effectiveness: The first 4 ingredients are well-known serious herbals for their medicinal properties... Used together they can do wonders for sinus/ear infections, colds, coughing and sore throat. I've even found it to kill flu germs.

2 cups tomato or V8 juice
1 tablespoon fresh garlic
As much hot sauce or cayenne pepper as you can stand
1 tablespoon lemon juice

VERY IMPORTANT: Drink it HOT and SIP ... This sends the bacteria killing fumes into your sinus passages.

Note: Adding celery salt and a dash of worcestershire sauce make it taste like a bloody mary.

Three mistakes I'm seeing in the people who say it didn't work very well...

1. Get as close to the ingredients listed as possible... When you feel better, go buy the real thing. It WILL make a difference.

2. Drink as much as you can as often as you can until you are SURE the infection is gone. This is past the time when you "feel better."

3. Drink it HOT and SLOWLY, so you get those fumes going up into your sinuses. This mix is highly anti-bacterial and will KILL the infection.

Causes of Sinusitis

Over the course of the last few decades, there has been an increase in the incidence of sinusitis in the U.S. and other industrialized nations that is directly related to a corresponding increase in air pollution and unhealthy indoor air, making unhealthy air and air pollution the two main factors of sinusitis. Other environmental causes of sinusitis include cold and flu viruses, bacterial and fungal infections, excessively cold or dry air, cigarette smoking, and regular exposure to secondhand smoke.

Sinusitis can also be caused or exacerbated by food allergies and sensitivities, dental and gum disease, stress, lowered immunity, structural problems within the nasal cavities (such as a deviated septum), nasal cysts and/or polyps, and unresolved emotions, especially anger. Candiasis (systemic yeast overgrowth) and the overuse of pharmaceutical drugs, especially antibiotics, are two other common causes of sinusitis.

Herbs that work well: Useful herbs for treating and preventing sinusitis include Echinacea, elder flowers, ephedra, eyebright, garlic, goldenrod, goldenseal, horseradish, Oregon grape, pokeroots, purple cornflower, stinging nettle, wild indigo, and yarrow.

Best of health to you

I had the exact same thing. Wait a bit, and you should feel better tomorrow or the day after. Your sinus infection is probably viral, and antibiotics will not help a viral infection.
