Or Mexican night?

Ok, so some kids think that turning 13 is a very very big deal (you know, "now I'm a teenager" sort of thinking) and they want to celebrate in a more grown-up fashion. You didn't tell us whether or not this is a kids party or a family party or a mixture of both, or if you're wanting a more sophisticated menu. So, here goes:

1. Celery and carrot stix with a ranch dressing or hummus and pita chips
2. Chateaubriand steak, grilled (season with kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, garlic, and beau monde seasoning) sliced very thin and served with a horseradish sauce (optional)
3. Twice baked potatos (cut potatoes in half after you bake them, scoop out the middle and mix with butter, salt, pepper, cream cheese, and milk. Put back in potato shells and top with cheddar cheese. Reheat in oven)
4. Your favorite vege.....green beans, peas, etc. cooked with a little chicken broth and butter
5. Cupcakes decorated as flower pots with candy flowers etc.

Not into red meat? Well, you can substitute chicken tenders and have a variety of dipping sauces. Change the potatoes to pommes frittes (thin french fries, crisp, with kosher salt and homemade catsup) and stick with the fresh vege platter

By all means, celebrate your special day to its fullest!!!! Your teen years are going to be full of excitement and fun and....well, you'll find out! :)

You can do whatever you would like, but it's always best to keep it simple. You could have bbq's and chips and potatoe salad and fruit salad and cake and bars...i mean it all depends on what you like, but you want to keep it simple so a lot can be made for everyone. Pizza is another idea if you prefer that
