English Actor Bernard Fox played Malcom Merriweather on the Andy Griffith show. He made an English Pasty with meat, potatoes and the Plum Putting at the other end. All English friends have said they never heard of Plum pudding in a Pasty. So was this just TV or maybe that era? 1963-1964. Thanks.

An english pasty is ground beef carrot onion swede n potato wrapped in a pastry and cooked.Never heard of plum in it .Cant see the sense in that. Not even to enhance the flavour.Must have been some 1s idea of a change just to make it a fancy way.dont fancy it myself though.do you?

It is just a variation ... Chefs do all types of things and I think they may have done this for the effect on TV to show he was an experimental type of cook... daring to do what was different??

Best thought I can come up with for you at this time... lol
