People dont believe in evolution because there isnt any evidence for it. There hasnt been any evidence demonstrated. The public actually believes more in evolution than do most scientists. They are working to try to prove it. The public (due to modern media) believe that is HAS been proved. Very, Very few scientists would make such a claim. There are as many scientists that DONT believe it as there are that DO. Even most of those that do, would stop short of saying that it has been "proved". You believe it has because you WANT to. NOT because of any evidence. After all if evolution is true then what you have is "one set of atoms (your brain) having an opinion about ANOTHER set of atoms (the stars, the universe, etc). Which sounds ridiculous, because it IS ridiculous. One group of atoms cant have a thought about another set group of atoms. Its all so boring and so obviously illogical. Most folks have enough common sense to know instinctivley that its a joke. Life doesnt "tend upward". Never has. Never will. All things tend toward disintegration. Which is why there never has been one example of a species evolving into ANOTHER species. There should be dozens (if not hundreds) of fossils showing this. But no, there isnt even ONE. ...theBerean

because the Question 'IF' was never answered, it is all still JUST THEORY!
none of it has been prooven,
nothing has been experimented,
and all of the 'proof' found in nature just brings up more questions, like
if a trilobite is a prehistoric creature, preceeding dinosaurs, then why does it have the most complex eye of many living creatures, and dogs today have relitivly simple eyes compairitivly. wouldn't a dog have an eye compairable, or better than the trilobite?
or how about this one, DNA is a 4 bit digital chemical code, that uses protein to check, and read, and copy it'self(this is chick and the egg to the billionth power) dna is needed to make protien, protien is needed to make DNA, What came first? if DNA, how was it read to make the protien to read it. if protien, where was the DNA to make more? Your Computer has a 2 bit digital electrical code. why, when it took man atleast 6000 years to get the computer invented, with pointed directional thought, would we then say that DNA just put itself together
that is garbage
if you throw silicon, gold, petrol, and magnets into a box and shake it for 5 billion years, you will have a box of junk, not a dual core processor computer with 8 gigs of ram complete with monitor, mouse, printer, and spanking new OS. I will even go a step further, and let you use finished components! take your computer apart, throw it all into a box, then shake it for a billion years. Evoluition says not only will it still work, but it will be back together, and be a better computer than what you started with.
I still argue it because it makes impossible statements in the real world!

Two items:
I was reading the webpage of the NAS (National Academy of Science) Their president was talking about Evolution. Never once did he indicate that Evolution was a Fact. ( He did indicate that it is a Strong theory.) What special revelation do you have that he does not?
Second, whose morality is better yours or the people that caused 9/11? As soon as you start to compare, then you must have a standard to compare with. Now who set the standard? You? Ben Ladin? Society? If you really think about it whatever you put up as the standard. (Except God) has flaws. So how can you trust any institution to be correct?
How ever we still have the question of right and wrong inate to our being. How did it get there?

I have seen much evidence that doesn't support evolution whatsoever.

There are so many inconsistencies with this so-called theory. For example, why do they call the development of the human voice box 'The Great Leap?' Ironic, isn't it? Sounds like the same leap of faith people have to take to believe in the Trinity. If you believe in evolution then in who is to say Hitler was wrong? If certain species can evolve and become superior, then this theory is endorsing racism, remember the whole survival of the fittest thing. If anyone argues for evolution, they're off my list of rational and humane human beings.

Give me proof!
How can their not be a designer.
O.k evolution is a theory...It cant be proven.Evolutionist have a lack of evidence and only use evolution as a way to deny God and drag others with them...Sad thing is it worked.
How can their not be a designer.
The proof of his existence is all around us in the sun, moon, grass, stars, sky, plants, animals and all the things around us. In the earth, Which is the right size, the perfect distance from the sun , has the perfect tilt, mixture of gases to support life, and a life cycle. We see design in ourselves as humans. We have brains and a nerve center that store knowledge and memories plus it tell us when we are in pain. We have ears that we can hear just the right amount not to little so we could hear others talk and not to much we can Hear air molecules passing through our ears. We have eyes to see plant and animals and all Creation. We have a heart to pump blood throughout are bodies. God gave us his word that is the most historically accurate book of its time. And how do you explain guilt you cant deny that all people have (hopefully)been guilty once. How do you explain that me evoled MAN and FEMALE and that when we did their was food or us laying around? You need to clear your facts man...

Evolution theory is a theory. Christians believe the caterpillar morphs into a butterfly, but human does not evolve from the ape. We believe God created people like the Bible tells. We are made of the same stuff. God can create things aged.

Christianity has never been threatened by any facts. People argue against the evolution of all mammals from something like a rat that lived 200 million years ago because it is totally illogical for that to have happened. Science cannot prove that it did happen, scientists only assume that it did. Get your facts straight.
Did you know some paleontologists think "Lucy" was an ancestor of chimpanzees, and not humans? I can get their names. Actually the names are given in the book "The Ancestor's Tale."

I don't think evolution has anything to do with religion. The Bible doesn't mention a lot of things, it doesn't always mean they don't exist, nor does any scientific theory prove that God doesn't exist or that God didn't create the world. I just think some people have a really simplistic way of viewing things. I don't think it's necessary to take everything in the Bible literally in order to believe the teachings of the BIble.

Christianity is simply threatened by the facts, and chooses to defend itself by denying reality. They've been very effective at developing propaganda to keep people in line on this.
Many Christians are able to stand up against the creationism nonsense - as you pointed out, creationism is by no means the universal stance of Christians or of Christian denominations. But there are, and probably always will be enough people who are afraid to buck the tide and will go along with the creationist crowd.

Could it be that the mighty designer also designed evolution? We evolved from apes and those who can't accept that are in denial. We branched off and there's nothing wrong with that. The evidence is all around us.
