I am basically capable of navigating my way through most situations with basic rules (please and thank you, ect) but I still find that in many social situations I find myself a bit awkward. unfortunately I'm a little too old for most classes you see (the ones targeted to little s) so I was hoping someone could reccomend a good book or source for helpful advice on common ettiquete issues that may go beyond the realm of please and thank you.

In addition to the standard Baldridge/Vanderbilt/Post manuals, I recommend "Miss Manners' Basic Training: The Right Thing to Say", by Judith Martin. It highlights the correct responses to make in most potentially awkward situations, as well as what to avoid saying.

"The little book of Etiquette" my aunt gave it to me when I was young and it has taught me a great deal of good to know information from how to navigate a formal place setting to greeting in different settings. I think Barnes and Noble books has it as well as Borders.
