It is possible, but first you must see how your dogs do around cats.
If you dogs have not been around cats, they might not like cats. Therefore it would be harmful for the cat.
Your local animal shelter/rescue group may have a flyer with information on how to do a proper introduction.

I have two cats and one Border Collie. In this particular instance my dog came before these two cats. My dog has lived (he's 11) with a total of 9 cats at different times. I had one horrible experience, I brought home a rescue cat and she hated my dog, I am ashamed to say I was happy to bring her back to work the next morning, she upset our entire household. If you really want a cat, look for a nice laid back type personality in an adult cat. Good Luck.

I have both dogs and cats and they all get along beautifully. They play and sleep together. But it's usually best to start with kittens and puppies, or a grown cat and puppy. With full grown dogs who've never been around a cat, it could mean disaster. If you do it, I would keep them separate so the cat is safe. Somewhere the dogs could never get at the cat.

Yes it is but I would not introdue a cat into a dog household. I would always do it the other way around.
I suggest if you are going to introduce a cat into your household, make sure it's a kitten and try if you can to have two. Two will make it easier for them to adapt to being around the dogs and as kittens although, they will have their instincts, they will nto know very much about dogs so you will not have any bad reactions to deal with.

You must not only see how your dog does around a cat but how the cat does around the dog. I have a beautiful pit and one of my cats always attacks her and shes always in the corner scared so we have to keep our female cat in our room but on the other hand our other cats do just fine with the dog sometimes they do get annoyed with our dog because shes always trying to play with them but its ok

Some dogs are perfectly fine with cats and some arent. I have 4 dogs. 3 of them have no issue with the cats but one gets a little rough and excited with them.

it is vey possible to have a cat and a dog in a house together. i have my dog boomer and my kitten dakota. Boomer is a big dog, he is a mix of beagle and coon hound, but he gets a long fine with my kitten. um you should introduce them gradually to get them to know each other. WHile you do that make sure they are fine do that for a while and you can see a change in the dog.

Golden Retreivers are fantastic relations canines and are easily homestead educated. i does no longer plan on getting a puppy because once you're in school 7 hours an afternoon then it might want to be a lot more durable to coach them suited. yet in case you get an older canines it truly is already homestead educated and whatnot, that would want to be a sturdy canines. i have owned goldens because i might want to undergo in options and we were able to leave them contained in the homestead with out tearing the homestead up. Boxers are very extreme means and want distinctive excersise. So i does no longer advise a boxer.

I have two dogs and two cats as well as a cockatiel and they all live in harmony. Just remind the dogs to leave the kitties alone and they'll be fine.

You have a better chance if a puppy is raised in a houshold with a cat. If a dog is older , and does not like cats, they are set in their ways, and chances are you can't make them like .cats.
