Forgive him he is your brother. I pray to God every night that my brother will forgive me, but he hasn't and it hurts, very bad. I miss my brother very much, but my family disowned me, over rumors they heard about me. And of the people i call friends and who are now the only family I have.
Forgive your brother and love him always. The bible says that to be forgiven you must forgive others. And thats what I believe whole heartedly. Your brother is going through life the way he chose, thats not your fault. But he is still your brother and one day he will realize what he has done. Forgive him his sins and ask God to help him find the light and back to you and your mom. Talk to him tell him how you feel, how much you love him. They say blood is thicker than water, not so in my case, but in yours.................Talk to your brother, your love might just pull him away from the path that he's walking down.

It is ok to love your brother but no love what he does. He is a grown man and can go as he likes weather we like it or not.
Having a drinking problem is a sickness, so him wanting to just stop drinking is REALLY hard for him or anyone.
Love him and keep loving him as your brother, he is not perfect as no one is.
Maybe the best thing that your mother could have done was make him leave. Maybe in this is will help him to see that drinking is not a good way to go in life and he will find help.
When he does come back into your life, welcome him.

Right now it sounds like you are giving him the "tough love" approach, which he may need. And if he cleans up his act and comes back and asks for forgiveness, then yes, you should forgive him (you may never forget). But people do mess up in life, everyone does at one point or another..He just may have carried that to the extreme. But I believe that anyone who has mad a conscious decision to change for the better deserves a second chance.

Absolutely forgive him. Family unit is very important in my opinion. Your brother is human we all make mistakes hopefully this was a learning experience for him and he can move her with your family loving support.

As long as he is drinking and you disapprove,,,no, don't forgive or forget...the effect alcohol has on the family unit is strong, and distructive!!! Until he stops drinking, stand your ground, if he cleans up, then if he is anything, he will make ammends for the hurt his drinking caused everyone!!!

You should fogive your brother by letting go of the pain he has caused your family. You should also be his friend if he needs you and wants to get help.
