If you are a Catholic you should not be struggling with what science says about what they cannot investigate.

Because science has no means of measuring God, does not mean that He is not there.

Science cannot measure the big bang, but they spent years presenting it as fact.

All of that cr*p came from biologists trying to analyze the structure of different animals. To them if two animals have a similar structure, they must have a common ancestor.

Some of these eggheads were Atheists before they became teachers and they teach what they believe. However if a Christian taught what they believe, there would be a groundswell of opposition against them.

Look for a book called 'A Case For Faith' written by Lee Strobel, a professional journalist, and 'Evidence That Demands a Verdict' by Josh McDowell.

The second horseman represents war, it correlates to Matthew 24:6. It is not synonymous with the Catholic church.

Well I have no idea what or how the universe was created or if we evolved from apes, what I do know is because my parents had sex I exist and I know this because I have fathered 3 children through sex . Houses exist because people built them, God exist because people created them, how, why, I don't know.
I know I was taught god exist from my parents that were taught and so on down the line. I was taught how the USA came to exist, how and why. Yesterday has meaning, but today is real we are here for what ever reason our parents had sex and we should put forth our affords on today. Think why would god put us here just to say I accept you as my savior, he went through all this trouble to make this happen. Now what is the bad side of the story, burn in hell.

Youre just like me, then. Born a Catholic, and not believing in that one god. I believe that man evolved from the apes, not that Adam and Eve were our ancestors. I think that I am one of a very tiny fraction of the people who are Amunistic.

By the way, if you don't believe in God, you can't be a Catholic. Catholic is another form of Christianity, and the root word from Christianity is Christ.

because your church has failed you... you have been educated int he rituals, but the faith has never been made real to you..this happens to many people....if the church is dead then leave it...

God is real...you need a better experience..

we have not evolved from apes...that is a theory, not a prooven fact, put out by atheists, with the specific intent of making people turn away from God....there is NO evidence for the THEORY ( not law) of evolution....the only good it does is hlep some scientists keep their jobs. Historically, they have mixed ape bones with human and then said these were ancestral forms....the "Lucy" ancestor was built from a few bones. Because she was "short" they thought she was a monkey woman....however, people forget that pygmies also live in that region and they are short

There's no such thing as a "Pure Catholic" thus you are confused by the near perpetual pelting of propaganda that stems from so-called people of faith, and people that go out of their way to disprove the existence of a Supreme Being. God may or may not exist, it has yet to be proven factually, therefore it is an individuals choice whether or not to believe, and the so-called theory of evolution is illogical given that apes still inhabit our planet... henceforth, I suggest you continue on a path of higher learning regarding mans existence...

You have to believe in God or you cannot claim to be a Catholic.

The basis of Catholic beliefs is the Nicene Creed (from the year 325) which starts:

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.

Catholics can believe in the theory of evolution.

The Catholic Church does not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe the book of Genesis tells religious truth and not necessarily historical fact.

One of the religious truths is that God created everything and declared all was good.

Catholics can believe in the theory of evolution. Or not. The Church does not require belief in evolution.

On August 12, 1950 Pope Pius XII said in his encyclical Humani generis:

The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.

Here is the complete encyclical: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_12081950_humani-generis_en.html

The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.

As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.

With love in Christ.

Science is only a small bit of why people don't believe in the existence of God. The other part is that they don't believe in God because religious fanatics tell us what we have to believe in. Even if we disagree.

btw - I was confirmed catholic, but believe in spirituality with or without the existence of God

Sounds like you won't be a Catholic much longer. Congrats on being able to break away from the propaganda.

Some people, though, do remain in the church long after becoming an atheist. There is something comforting in old traditions.

However, I would suggest that you look into your beliefs more and why you believe them. Though, it sounds like you've already started doing that. Science does provide some evidence that contradicts religious tenets, but you can find contradictions and absurdities in the tenets, themselves.
