My longest relationship lasted 8 years and he was killed in an auto accident by drunk driver. Most of my relationship have lasted between 2 and 8 years. I take one day at a time when you love someone it isn't that easy to get over them. Quite frankly you might not ever get over them. Take time for yourself and enjoy just loving you that is what matters to me now. Don't let your relationship define you or consume all your energy. Get out and enjoy life travel, shop or pick up hobby this is how I invested all my free time. It is ok to think about him from time to time but life goes on. Be open and receptive to a new relationship.

The longest relationship I was ever in was for 5 yrs. He was my first love and was always breaking my heart unfortunately. It took me a long time to get over him and I date some wrong people and made a few mistakes along the way. But then I tried Internet dating. I know it may sound crazy but it worked for me. I mean at first I was at a loss but then I met this amazing guy. We are living together now and we have a son. We plan on getting married in the next year or two. My point is that if I can find true love again anyone can. Don't lose the faith. Good luck!

to answer your question re the longest relationship i have been in?, it is with my wife, we are now in our 60s and we meet when we were in college and both 18 yrs. old.. i courted her and we get married 5 yrs. after that still married, got 2 very nice children one is married and the other one is still looking but not in a hurry and i'm still very, very happy with my best friend, partner and spouse. with re to your breaking up with your bf i suggest that you let it go and move on, don't even bother to call him and just forget about it..you will meet a better person in the future... if it not meant to then don't even force it and just lick your wounds and move on.. GOOD LUCK!

I was 15 got married was with him for 7 years he left me for some one else . And within 5 months I found my soul mate been with him for 24 years . You just have to do things for your self believe that there is someone out there for you and take your time find what's in your heart ..... It's so hard to not want to call that person but look at it this way he left you so don't look back keep looking for what's in front of you God bless you

Crazy! Come on, Love! You're too sweet to be all down-n-out. Look at what he's passing up? You're a Diva? And he's just lost you. And you're having someone, sit around, without being able to show you just how Sweet you really are. Shame on you for keeping him waiting. He's out there! Go find him!

5yrs was the longest.. We are finished 3yrs now and im still not fully over her.. I often think about the what if's.... Best not to talk to him, i think its easier to get over someone that way- just my opinion..
Give it time, it will get easier.. Go out with friends and have some fun.. Meet new men, - dont have to have sex with them all, just go out and have some fun...
Time will heal it.
