Because its a terrier, they are high energy and need a job to do. Try using toys that dispense treats, that will keep him occupied for a while.

Try taking your dog for a walk every day, be consistent about it. Dogs get bored with the same environment every day, It makes them feel good to be able to get out and get their dog e-mail. I always call it that when you take them out and they sniff every pee stain along the way, that they are picking up their dog e-mail.
Really though you dog will be happier if you get it out and walk it more. Dogs that don't get walked start to bark more as they become more protective of their areas.
If you walk your dog every day you will see an improvement pretty much right away. Evey one will be happier all the way around.
Try it and I'm sure that you will find it works out well.

because its a dog and dogs barking is natural. It might be barking at an animal outside or trying to tell you something and doesnt realise that you cant reply sooner or later it will realise you dont understand what its saying. Hopefully !

Give it plenty of excercise,that way it will be to tired to bark !!
