Nightmares can be good for that but with the vivid dreams I have, I prefer not to go there! Certain foods produce nightmares in lots of people. Blue cheese in the late evening is a good one, sure fire way to messy dreams! Chocolate late at night produces a similar effect, it lets your body release endorphins which make you feel good when you consume it but seems to have the opposite effect when you sleep. Try it out. Doubt it is scientifically proved but have a go.

I would say if you are enjoying the dreams and are wanting to continue having them then they are not nightmares.
In common current usage, the term nightmare refers to dreams of particular intensity, with content that the sleeper finds disturbing, related either to physiological causes, such as a high fever, or to psychological ones, such as unusual trauma or stress in the sleeper's life.

You only have a problem if your nightmares are stopping you dela with your problems OR your nightmares are causing concerns for other people around you.
If you are happy with them, they probably are not nightmares.
