I can kind of understand that kind of attitude, but the trouble is you grow up a bit and realise how silly that was and feel like a twit. Better to try to hold rationally supportable views at all times, or at least to proportion your belief to the evidence. There is absolutely no valid reason to believe that a god or gods actually exist.

I think the question you want to ask is if it is more important to physically feel good or to emotionally/spiritually feel good? Well if you believe in God or not you still should be able to see the correlation between our actions and feelings. Whether you think your actions(sex, drinking, drugs) affect you or not they do. Believing in God means trusting His judgement and following His example(Christ). Its not to hurt but to protect you.

Well first your believing is okay but in James 2:19,20 we are told that satan believes and trembles, so belief is not enough, IF YOU LOVE ME "THEN" keep the commandments, Jn14:15, IF you BE-LIVE [which is the end of the street to belief] enough to keep His commandments [not suggestions by the way] then you will be in Heaven with Him if not you won't, in 1 John 5:13 we are told WE MAY "KNOW" that we have eternal life, find out more free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com bible questions www.bibleinfo.com God bless talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com

Personally I do not care. If it just makes feel good it's OK by me. If you start involving your nose in things that do not concern you then I will care.

I care. I don't want to know what is comforting, I want to know what is real!

If someone proved to you that God couldn't exist (which won't happen as you can't disprove his existance any more than you can disprove that of the flying spaghetti monster), would you still believe in him? No, you also want to believe in what is real, I am sure.

Not believing in such things would make for a better world for everybody. Look at the trouble it causes.

If it just made people feel good it would be fine. But to often others are forced with violence to follow belief they don't like. Religion is by nature not tolerant of people with other beliefs, like Atheism

well then you would be worshiping yourself as God. that's a problem because you aren't no matter how it makes you "feel". When this world passes away and truth is revealed, the way we experience feelings will change.

As long as peoples believing in it does not ever result in the mistreatment of all those who do not, I dont mind.
I dont mind if people believe that Jesus Christ is their fairy God mother, its sad, but I dont mind, as long as it doesnt affect me in any way whatsoever

It's a lot more than just feeling good. If you had ever felt the real power of God, you wouldn't ask that.
