Scholarship - money based on merit - is an entitlement once you have been awarded the funds.

However, some may have stipulations about other funds that you receive. More than likely, you'll be able to keep the excess money. But without knowing the specifics of the scholarship programs, I can't give a better answer.

Nothing will happen. Scholarships are usually monies that are given, and do not need to be repaid. However, read any contract before you sign them. Some scholarships will have clauses thrown in that make you pay back a certain amount if the scholarship is not fully needed or used.

Any type of financial aid is for covering expenses while you go to school. This has created a very loose monitoring program for most financial aid opportunities, as there are basically unlimited things you can claim as "educational" expenses.

If you get scholarships above and beyond tuition and books, save as much of it as you can. That will help with any other incidental expenses.

Worry about that when it happens. You can always decline some of the more restrictive or lesser amount ones.
