No, but it IS a sign of how we ALL make mistakes. The mint has people paid to examine the coins for quality assurance, but in this case, they looked only at the face of the coins while missing the etching around the rim on the outside.
I think we can all take a lesson from this. Those on YA who take themselves as experts on religion or any topic - maybe we're only looking at the face of the coin and missing what is written on the side. Maybe we are not seeing the whole picture and all ought to have a little more humility and treat others with more respect. We all make mistakes.

No, it didn't. It was a mistake:
http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070307/godless_dollars.html?.v=3
"An unknown number of new George Washington dollar coins were mistakenly struck without their edge inscriptions, including "In God We Trust," and made it past inspectors and into circulation, the U.S. Mint said Wednesday...
The coin's design has already spurred e-mail conspiracy theories claiming that the religious motto was purposely omitted from the Washington dollars. That rumor may have started because the edge lettering cannot be seen in head-on photographs of the coins."
A little fact checking goes a long way.

I have not seen the new US dollar Coin, yet, But it does not suprise me, because I heard they were talking about it, In my opinion, I think it is a dis-respect to God & not exactly respecting athesists, but respecting satan.

Its good to get it off the coins. It would be like putting "in God we trust" on poker chips. It honors the temporal things of this world and not God's kingdom.

You already wrote the answer. It's a sign of respect of the separation from state and church. I'm sure government officials were not sitting around discussing, "How should we please atheists?"
"Oh, I know! Let's take out in God we trust! That will please them greatly!"

Nope. Adding "There is no God" would do that, though.
Coins didn't start out with any reference to God, and there is no reason for it to be on them now. Eventually, it will be removed for good.
