No offence to Mother T - who I happen to think was a fabulous lady - but I'd call that more of a straight-out contradiction than a paradox, if not a load of hooey.
Why do people believe there's something inherently noble about pain? Sure it can teach you an awful lot and stuff, but as someone who doesn't go a day without physical (or psychological) pain, I know enough already!

Romantic love has not hurt me, I found my sole mate. I suppose the only hurt I have had is the loss of a loved one which happened to me a few weeks ago when two close friends died.

Love never hurts if the person loves u the way u love him/her. On the other hand love hurts more than anything else if u don't get ur love. Ok ok .....But the point is Do u dare to love someone even if he/she don't love u? if u dare then it surely will not hurt u anymore!

Romantic love does hurt actually, but not hurt like a broken arm, more like a knawing, blunt pain in your chest...kinda like built up energy wanting to break free. But no matter what u try, love comes and there is no way of stopping it ; D Its not a bad hurt tho.
Other kinds of love, like friendship/family love or love for other people doesnt hurt, really.

Definately, everytime I think of my boyfriend, it feels like my heart hurts, it is like my chest squeezes. I love him so much it makes my heart hurt! Sounds silly I know, but I've never felt this way before, its an amazing thing. I like the quote by the way.

It defenitely does. But not from the very beginning. Love's a flash. Pain comes after a short period of time when the flash fades away.
