I don't know if you are clinically depressed but you do sound low.
You seem to be holding onto a time in your life where you were very happy. That is normal when you have had upheavals.
One thing is important here, you might be the father of a child but the mother is just as responsible. On that matter be kinder to yourself. It takes the two of you to make a child so she is not without responsibility.

I suggest that you make an appointment with a counsellor, if you are in school, a school counsellor may be of assistance.

You sound very normal to me but are just going through the change from being a kid to a responsible adult. Memories are good and help through the hard times. Consider seeing a counselor who could help you through this transisition and give you someone to talk to. You have your whole future ahead, and rest assured, you'll have many new memories to form. Enjoy life and your new baby, she'll grow up quickly!

YOU are suffering from what they call "Post Partum Depression". Oh! it's a horrible feeling. Call your doctor right away and discuss this with him, please. It's very real and very dangerous. It will pass, but caused from the disturbance of many hormones in your system after having a baby.

I am thankful that you have come into "Answers" to ask about this, many women just try to ignore it. It is very serious and could cause you to do harm to you and to others. Ask your doctor, please, it is real!

you are probably just realising the enormity of having a child.. it isnt something you can just do and walk away from.. reality strikes, i am a trained nurse of 20 years standing and i dont believe you are depressed, you are like the rest of th world longing for the past.. its gone.. make the most of your life, enjoy your daughter and move forward. we all have bad times and , low times in our lives.. move on.. you are very lucky if not a bit yong.
