Hell is a place of spiritual emptiness and self-condemnation.

In hell people will be immortal just like in heaven, they wont feel any kind of pain or burning or anything like that because if you feel pain, that means you can die, and how could you die in the afterlife? Hell is both described as a place of darkness and a place of fire, but either of those may be mere symbols. Darkness symbolizes emptiness and or wickedness (i.e. "whoever claims to be walking in the light but hates his brother is still in darkness" as it says in 1st John.. Fire could be symbolic of condemnation, as in Revelation Christ is described as having eyes with fire signifying that he will bring judgment. Both cannot be literal, because you cannot have both fire (which gives light) and darkness at the same time. You can have a fire at nighttime, but it will still give off some light. And since bodies are immortal, you can't feel the fire either if it is literal.

You still have your conscience in hell.

There are countless variations of hell. In fact, the whole "fire and brimstone" comes from the poem "Dante's Inferno". The poem was written by a poet (duh) who was thrown out of his city (I forget the reason) and so, in retaliation, he wrote "Dante's Inferno" with seven different circles of hell that where each had specific punishments for certain crimes. Before that, hell was thought of as being cold and dark because it was "far from the light of god".

In retrospect, I'd say hell (if it exists) probably has subtle tortures that relate directly and specificly(SP?) to each person and thier sins. In other words, hell,in my opinion, is highly customizable.

Jesus described it using the word"Gehenna" which I am sure I have misspelled, even with spell check.

This was a trash heap that continuously burned, and smoked. it was full of worms, and was outside the city.

That is as good a definition as I can give.

Hell was made for the devil and his angles and his followers, and all the unbelievers and so called christians who do not repent. Hell is no party place it is an inferno. Go by a book called 23 minutes in hell by Bill Wiese. True story about a guy who went to hell for 23 minutes. He described a heat so intence he wounderd why he did not die, it was so unberable. He also saw demons tourchering the dammed with their sprears and tearing their flesh of their bodies and the flesh would move back and they would tear it of again and the souls would be in shear agony becasue of it as demons have no mercy, mercy only comes from God. He also experienced darkness unlike anyone has ever seen before, it is darker than dark, it is the kind of darkness that consumes you and you cannot even see your hands infron of your face. The pearcing screams from billions of the dammed are so deafining. You are also locked up in a prison cell in intence heat unlike you have ever known, and you scream out for water becasue you experience a thrist so bad you think you are going to die, but in hell there is no water. You are also covered with huge nast worms that crawl inside your soul inside your nose, eye sockets etc. The worms never die. The demons will torture you in every way they can, as they are huge, I heard around 15 feet tall, and you will screa with fright. Some souls are hung upside down on a wall in burning heat they are all screaming. Mate avoid Hell at all costs, by excpeting Jesus, and Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven, and without Jesus you are doomed forever. And one day all thoses dammed souls in hell will be dragged up for judgement by Jesus under the great white thrown to rejoin thier bodies that were buried and stand condemed, and then they will be bound hand and foot and cast body and soul into the lake of fire that burns with brimstome for eternity. You will never die but you will be so burnt up and in pure agony from the lake of fire with brimstone that your pearcing screams will not be heard and you will not be rememberd anymore and the smoke of your torment will go up forever and ever, and it will be fore eterninty. Excpet Jesus now before it is too late. And in hell you will remember all your memories from earth, and you will never see any of your loved ones again, you will feel total lonliness, and you will remember all thoses times somebody tried to preach the gospel to you but you rejected it and you will then regret it. The only time you will be let out of hell is when you stand comdemed by God and thrown into the burning lake of fire forever. It will consume you forever, and yet you will not die. How horrible. Jesus is the answer.

it is aplace designated for punishing humans in the here after for the sins they commit in their lives.
what the Quran tells is that hell is made of fire and it is a place for those who commit sins for which they think they can get away with easily-- sins as small as huting others feelings to actually killing someone
