This only happens in non-Muslim countries, because all religions other than Islam are false. Only Islam is divine and true. If you read history very well, you'll find Muslims being great when they held firm to Islam. Christians and Jews are the opposite and so are the rest of non-Muslims.

Excuse me, but i am a Christian (16 years old and in a girl's school) and i am, along with three other Christian and various other religious girls at the top of my class in Science, Maths and English, Thanx v. much.

In Proverbs, in the Bible there is written about knowledge, and God says that seeking knowledge and wisdom, questioning things are one of the most important things in life. Many atheist just dont care (just like many religious ppl) and just seek knowledge on the things they know or believe in, an that they think can benefit them. Then, they spend the rest of their lives "having fun" or working their backs off for nothing cos they just go through life without really living. When they die, they die without God by their sides and that is the saddest thing of it all. They die alone, no matter how many ppl may be with them.

There are some pretty stupid atheists in my class as well....not because they were born that way (I dont think any one was born stupid). I dont know why they dont do well, they just like boys and make up and hanging out more, i guess.

I'm not sure, exactly.

I've got a naive theory that says this correlation is because the longer you're in school, the more you're trained to show the steps in your thinking that led to your conclusions, and to look for things that don't support your conclusions.

If you apply that kind of thought process to religion, atheism or agnosticism is likely to follow.

There isn't, except possibly at PhD level. The vast majority of people in higher education declare themselves to be members of an organized religion, and a large number of atheists are not in higher education.

A child could not define himself as being an atheist. This in itself implies a level of mature reason vis spirituality that even the most intelligent child could not possibly possess. By the same token, a child cannot be considered to be religious. Humans only attain religiosity - or could reasonably deny it - when they attain maturity.

IF you are right, I would say one factor would be the liberal atmosphere in colleges. If a religious person is only in college for a couple years, it is much less likely to bend to the anti-Christian environment than if they are in college 6 or 8 years.

You also have many people who have difficulty with moderation. They jump from one extreme to another. Science may prove some of their conservative notions wrong so they dump all religion all together.

But I sincerely doubt you assertion as you stated it. I suspect conservative Christianity may drop as education rises, but there are also moderate & liberal Christians, buddists, agnostics & people like me who are "spiritial, but not religious."

You're indicating Atheists tend to be PhDs and Christians high school drop outs? Take Paul or C.S. Lewis against any ten Atheists combined and I think the Christians will have the edge. Besides, though, Paul wrote that not many of us (Christians) were prominent people, we are not the scholars of the age, but we put the scholars to shame because the fools who follow God are smarter than the scholars who deny him. But I would agree that the average Atheist is smarter than the religious-right............... But I would not say the average Atheist is smarter than a Christian.

There's not. The Atheist believe that they must certainly be smarter than Christians because they believe that we base our Christian beliefs on blind faith which we do not. Christians are just as intelligent as non Christians are. I am a Christian and have a master's in nursing and am working on my doctorate. I am very intelligent and have a high level of education as I have an undergraduate and a graduate degree.
For instance Thomas who answered before I did used the expression "more dumber", he is an Atheist should I base my thoughts about the intelligence of Atheist using him as a representative of the group?

Once you get an education you start thinking for yourself. Once you start thinking for yourself you realize this impossibility and the absurdity of gods.
