Well swallaowing it would be the polite thing to do! And i'd swallow also because I love cocoa!! I don't know why anyone would spit it out... Unless it was boiling hot or something!!

If it didn't taste good, I would lift the cup again to my lips and gently spit it out. No point in offending someone.
