Actually, the Bible said 'fruit' but we often refer it as an apple. Honestly, we don't know what went through Eve's mind, but you can say she 'lustfully desired' that fruit. She probably eyed it for a long time, which became a desire to have.
The fruit wasn't bad itself. But, God told them not to eat it. He said, you may eat from all the rest of the trees in the garden except from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. She knew she wasn't allowed, but her curiosity in conjunction with the Devil disguise as a beautiful serpent, led her to act on her inward desires. Sometimes, you want what you can't have, but that doesn't give a good excuse to disobey, especially God.

They ate the apples due to desire, they bedded each other because of lust. That's the reason bed was invented.

-What for an apple is?
It has two parts - Eatable part and seeds.
Eatable part is meant to attract species of animals and birds to liberate & spread the seeds of fruit.
So, apple did its job.
- Any being eats to fulfill its biological needs, so did the two.
- desire or lust is in the mind of one who is doing post mortem of their action.
- good or 'bad' depends on our reaction to their action and the theory / idea we want to prove.
= by the way, why did god forbid them from eating such a nice fruit. He could have, by the way, not created such a fruit, which would force people to disobey his orders.
+ In my opinion, this storey is meant only to persuade the ignorant people to follow the flock of christianity.

Curiosity.
It's already happened, so why wonder if it's good or bad? It can't be undone.
