Philippine citizenship is acquired by:
1. Being born in the Philippines,
2. Those who were adopted by Filipino citizens,
3. Those whose mothers and fathers are Filipino citizens,
4. By naturalization.

For you, the best way is to be naturalized as a Filipino citizen by having a gainful employment in the Philippines and be able to assimmilate Filipino culture.

Hmm, if you are an American you should just purchase a condo on a 25 year lease. This pretty much grants you Residency, but not Citizenship. That way you keep your American citizenship, and also have the benefits of living in the PI.
