i went to beauty school and i learned that youre not suppose to wash your hair every day (i know it sounds gross). youre suppose to wash every other day. it could make your scalp even more oily. you could try a dry shampoo (like a powder substance) or go to a salon and see what they suggest. you can buy some good products at the beauty supply store and if the sales person is knowledgeable enough they should know which ones are good.
as for the frizz you can get some anti-frizz/hair serum and put some in your hair when its damp (not soaking wet) and maybe a little before blow drying your hair. put some in your palms and then streak it through generously (if youre gonna do it before and after) but honestly, if you have knotty ends you should keep up with the trimming of your hair. then if its healthy you can use a flat iron along with some smoothing/shine products (if your hair is curly and you want a straight look)
good luck and i hope it all works out for you!

For the oily/dry situation, wash every other day if you can get away with it, if not, sometimes a little baby powder sprinkled on the oily roots will "dry them up" so they don't look oily. Use a good conditioner where you need it, most likely about halfway down the hair itself, not so much on the scalp. Rub it into the hair well, wait a minute or two then rinse out WELL. The puffiness could be from breakage, although it's hard to tell without a better explanation. Pantene makes a great shampoo for most any kind of troubled hair, read the labels. I know they're more expensive, but if you really want a solution to your hair problem, spend it.

use a shampoo for oily hair, when they say oily hair it means ,oily scalp. hair has no oils in it,only the scalp has the oil. so the careful grooming is your anser.when you say, you have knotty ends, you probably, are not combing it
right, or well enough.always start combing your hair from the ends working up toward the scalp, making sure you get all the knots, that will also help get rid of future split ends.

I would suggest going to a salon or a store like Trade Secrets and getting some Redken shampoo and conditioner.... I have tried so many different types of shampoo and I have found that Redken works the best for my right now I am using the one in the blue bottle for distressed hair and it works like a charm

you need to wash your scalp more often. moisturize your hair with some cream... and cut the knotty ends off.
