Flying isn't always a treat. But if you travel a lot, you're going to need to learn to make the best of it. Here are some tips from seasoned travelers on how to make friends, avoid gross food, and get the passenger next to you to stop yelling at his computer.
Steps
1. Make friends with the flight attendant. If the attendant is nice, she'll tell you all you need to know, and maybe treat you a little nicer.
2. Make friends with the people who sit next to you. You can easily pass the time with conversation -- just be sure the other person wants to talk as much as you do!
3. Bring your own toilet paper for the bathroom if possible -- you don't want to get stuck.
4. Bring a magazine, book or puzzle or something to keep you busy. You will most likely get tired of the weird noise outside of the plane.
5. Bring a sweater or jacket because it gets cold really easily.
6. Wear comfortable shoes. You will regret it otherwise.
7. Stand up for yourself. If someone is leaning their chair back in your face, or bumping your arm off the armrest, say something. Just do so politely.
8. Think about food in advance. Call ahead and ask for something prepared just for you or bring your own lunch.
Tips
* Bring an Mp3 player because there can be some really annoying sounds onboard.
Warnings
* Don't back mouth the flight attendant, fellow travelers, or the pilot
Things You'll Need
* Duffel bag or purse to hold stuff you may/may not need.
* Toilet paper, just in case...
* Magazine
* Book
* Puzzle
* Sweater or Jacket
* Comfy shoes, they will hurt.
* Mp3 player

"Direct" flights are not the same as "nonstop" flights. Direct means a flight stops but there is no change of planes or flight number.

Take a couple of magazines or a good book to read; watch the inhouse movie channels; sleep.
