Its true, when you first start taking dextroamphetamine it can make you nauseas, or just not hungry, so you have to watch out, cause you can not even notice sometimes that you haven't eatten. But if you decided to keep taking it, after a while you just get used to it and can eat while you are on it. When I started to take it I lost around 15 pounds, which was a lot but when I asked other people on it they said thats around how much they lost, after the first few months.

Hi there, Dexamphetamine is a form of speed and so speeds up your metabolism. This however, is more common in children. As an adult you might lost weight but you might not. If you eat healthily, for you, you should have no problems.

My son was on Dexamphetamine for his ADHD for about 5 years and it did make him lose weight but he was only 9 when he stopped taking it. I know of a 23 yo old who has been taking it for about 15 years and he certainly is not losing any weight.

You might find yourself less active which is the aim of the drug so you shouldn't lose any weight, unless you stop eating.
Just keep eating in a healthy way for you and there should be no problems. If you do experience side effects, go back and tell your family doctor ASAP.

Yes, any ADD medication that is mixed with Amphetamine salts, will cause you to lose weight, especially Adderall. It used to be used as a diet pill before they used it to cure/treat ADD/ADHD.

If you're concerned about losing too much weight. Then try fighting the loss of appetite and eat. Which is very difficult, because the ones I took made my mouth taste very unappetizing for days, haha. Or ask your doctor if he/she can decrease your dose, or to change your prescription.

The person who prescribed this to you, is the person you probably want to go to, to get answers and help with your concern.
