Go to a website like sidestep or kayak that researches the best prices for flights. The more time you book before you fly the cheaper it is. Also if you're flexible try changing the departure/ arrival dates and see if the price drops. I got half price by coming back from my trip on the Tues after Easter rather than the Mon after. When demand drops so does the price. Good Luck.

I had roundtrip from Indianapolis to San Antonio in coach and the ticket was six hundred dollars round trip.
It depends on the airline and what day of the week you are travelling
