How do i get my parents (my dad and step mom ) come and meat my bf's parents ?

Because my Dad hasnt seen were I live . ( I'm 2 hours away from home ) I love my dad but why wont he trail for 1 day and see me and my bf and his parents . I want his blessing to get married . This is frustrating .

I have tryed to talk to him last year about this . And he wants US to go to my home . He hasnt seen where I live . It upsets me . You would think he would care . Also my step mom isnt make it easy for me to even talk my dad . She hates me .

I think best way to have your parents to meet your boyf family is to request that your boyf parent to come and meet your parents at their house. Once they get to know each other, perhaps this will prompt your dad into making the next trip to meet them. It is sad that he is not curious to take an interest and perhaps your step-mom may plays a role in this.

Another option you may consider is to have your boyf parents to call and speak with your dad. They can get to know each other that way and maybe he will be entice to visit them, especially if your boyf family offers to cook a special dinner from them. Let them know what type of food your dad enjoys to eat. In order to make sure your step-mom don't interfere, this gathering can be kept confidential

The last option is to invite your dad to dinner halfway to your boyf family home and you all can meet there, and get to know each other better.

As for your step-mom, don't make an issue to disrespect her. If you had make every effort to draw close to you and she just don't want to be part of you, it is totally her lost. It will be her fault that she never took the opportunity to draw her love close to you. She don't know want she is missing in being part of your life!

You should etheir have a long talk to your dad on the phone,or go out to where your dad lives and talk to him in person.Telling him how you really feel and how much it means to you that he's there for you.It may be frustrating for your dad...but you should tell your dad,how frustrating it makes you feel when you want him to meet your bf's parents,and he won't.You feel like he doesn't care..and it is frustrating,but have a long talk with him.Talking helps.

How can he turn you down if you throw a party for him, a parent appreciation party. Or have a family BBQ at a park,or beach and invite him. Waite a while, so dad won't figure it out. Father's day is coming, you may have to take it to him.
