I know this might be a little harsh but it doesnt matter if he wants to go or not. You are the parent he is the child. Until he is 18 you are responsible for him. If he gives you hell give it back, or give him a good but whipping, he aint to old. A child is a child. A 16 year old is going to try to get what they want. Just like when he was 2 or 3 and went though that stubborn face like now, he tried to get his way. You didnt give in then did you. Why now?

Unless the teenager is over 18 then he will have to go. Perhaps Boarding school or boarding with someone else might be an option for you - but I wouldn't consider it.

This happens often. The most painful for them is to leave behind friends. This is understandable. Explain to him/her that they can still be in-touched via Internet or that he/she can always visit them.

Why are you being so self-centred? My family made me leave all my memories and friends behind. And I took THREE years to get used to it. HELLO? did you ever had any friends before?
