I love to see Bollywood cinema on German TV.
Often I heard "namaste" when people meet together or in the way to say "Thank you".
Is it used in booth ways?

Can I find anywere useful phrases in your language?
(Sorry please, my English is bad)

Thank you in advance!
Best regards from Germany
Mishy

Namaste = Greetings
Dhanyavaad = Danke
Of course that's just in Hindi, there are a whole lot of other Indian languages which have different words. But this should get you by in Bollywood.

Thankyou for your interest in our language, Hindu culture bows, respects and greets to every form of life that's nourishes and benefits human life. Usually 'namaste' with your palm together is used to greet people.
You can easily get a hindi-english dictionary in any book store in india.

Namaste is used to greet a person while meeting or saying goodbye. We often use Ji(Jee) to refer to elders. Here are some phrases in Hindi:

Hello- Namaste, Namaskaar
How are you?- Aap Kaise hain?
Meet again- Phir Milenge (Fir Milenge)
What is your name? - Tumhaara / Aapka Naam Kyaa Hai?
What are you doing?- Aap kyaa kar rahein hain?
Please- Kripya
No- Nahein
Yes- Haa(nasal) / Jee
Sorry- Maaf karna
Thanks- Dhanyavaad/ Shukriya
