I too get this reaction from heat rubs - all you can do is try to cool the area with wet cloths. If you rub any cream in to it, it will only get more irritated. Usually mine dies down totally in a day or two. Antihistamines eg cetrizine can help a bit but wont totally fix it!

I've found the only one i can tolerate is transvasin but it still causes a mild reaction. A microwave heat pack in future is your best bet!
