I've been researching alot lately on which of the two extremes, veganism or meat eating diets, are better. After weighing the odds and ends, I concluded that humans were omnivorous, only meant to eat a little meat and mostly vegetation. However a study with Inuits showed that they ate almost all meat, fat and fish. This changed my whole perspective on everything, and I realized this isn't about meat eating or vegetarianism, it's about eating NUTRITIOUS foods, and a BALANCED and MODERATED diet

The Inuit paradox is the study of this strange diet the Inuits had. Why were they perfectly healthy on a mainly carnivorous diet?
"It is worthy of note that the health of the participants deteriorated in the first few weeks of the trial as the participants were fed only with muscle and some fatty tissue, unlike the Inuits who ate as much of the animal as possible. Once offal was introduced to the participants diet their health was regained. Brains, testes, liver, kidneys, bone marrow and other offal provide a far more comprehensive nutritional solution than meat (i.e. skeletal muscle) alone."

In conclusion, we should all just stop fighting and eat whatever is good for our bodies. Nothing is really to blame except for bad quality and standards. Any smart researched comments will be appreciated.

"One of the differences is that the traditional Inuit’s diet is very high in omega-3 fats while our diet is very high in omega-6 fats. Science has shown that the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 should be as close to a ratio of 1:1 and certainly no more than 4:1. Inuits are about the only people to approach the 1:1 ratio, while we typically come in at 20:1, or upwards of 50:1 for real junk food lovers. A balanced omega-6 to omega-3 ratio promotes a balanced, non-inflammatory state in the body, while tilting the scale toward a higher level of omega-6 will promote an inflammatory – and therefore diseased and degenerative – state."

I am beginning to have an obsessive interest in this. I am really not trying to offend anyone, rather I want a conclusive study rather than a fad diet. So many people advocate all these diet plans and they have no real evidence until someone comes along and proves the diets wrong or even dangerous!

Well, the Eskimos live pretty much on fish plus lots of fats from animals such as seals and walruses. A weird diet and seriously lacking in vegetables. Yet they suffer fewer heart diseases than Americans. Maybe the Eskimos most subject to disease have been bred out of the gene pool because if the stressful environment they live under.

Well, the inuits hunted and fished in cleaner conditions than commercial meat is raised in. The commercial meat and poultry is shocking, both in animal cruelty and unsanitary practices. If you eat commercial meat or poultry, you are also eating fecal matter, no way around it. Meats are injected with antimicrobials to overcome illness from it. Animals are kept in deplorable condition, fed an improper diet to what would be natural for them, and given growth hormones, antibiotics and steroids, all which come through in the meat. I too, believe in a well balanced diet, but my diet does not consist of meat-I get all of the nutrition, protein, vitamins and minerals I need through a vegetarian diet, I eat an occaisional piece of fish. People say we have incisor teeth to rip flesh, but the fact is, we have two tiny teeth to puncture food, and the remaining teeth are flat like other vegetarian creatures.

definite. The production facility farms and slaughter homes pollute the ecosystem via mass producing animals. They abuse the animals and supply them steroids and antibiotics that's terrible for the buyer to consume. our bodies have already got difficulty digesting meat usually with out all of that. Even seafood intake undesirable for the ecosystem. Watch "Earthings" on Netflix. eating meat isn't as good for persons because of the fact the industry says. i could evaluate procuring meat from an area farmer that has loose selection animals and would not abuse them or be a vegetarian. there are a number of innovations to stay away from being a factor of the environmental destruction that the super companies reason.

I think we eat what is available to us. If the Inuits had access to fresh fruit and vegetables perhaps they would eat more of them. Dont forget they burn off all of those calories and fat by a physical lifestyle...... and they probably also dont have access to processed foods. All diets can be healthy, it depends on how much exercise you get, if you eat high fat food, processed foods. I believe a vegetarian diet is best for humans, we can get enough protein from non animal sources, and iron through dark leafy greens,no need to be anemic.

You dont live to eat. You eat to live. So please dont eat as much as you can. You will get very fat and will become a burden to this earth, which is rotating around the sun quite fast if you ask me. What if the earth loss the balance and fell in to the abyss because of your extra weight? Everybody will die. Who will cook for you then?

So, in all simplicity, let me advise you it's'nt about eating NUTRITIOUS foods, and a BALANCED and MODERATED diet. Its about eating meat.

a lot of energy is used to breed and kill your food. you can stop the cycle by not eating meat. your flesh is the same as a cow or a pig , so if you can't give up meat, at least give up eating mammals

You are right about just eating what is GOOD for us.

I was a vegetarian for 2 years, and ended up being anemic.
I eat meat now, and am fine.
