Depends what you did. If you were not commited before how do you know that you will be now? Once you have broken someones heart i beleive that it wont be able to work again. The other person will be too paranoid if you were to try a relationship. I think you should find someone else and make sure you dont screw them up, sorry!

my heart is broken b/c i can't get a commitment of any kind from the man i love, did you do something b4 or after the commitment,if it was after why? how could you do that ? you had time b4 a commitment is ask of you to know if this is were you want to be .let the man I love make a commitment to me only God knows I would never give him a broken heart or hurt in any way i would give him all of me,4 all of my life

Tell them. Try to make yourself look like you are totally commited, by maybe calling them a little more then you used to, being really nice to the person.
It depends really. Do whatever you think would be good to win their heart back.
I've been in this situation before, and what I did was buy my ex boyfriend flowers and such. I also got him his favorite candy, and got him a card with a note in it telling him how sorry I was. I poured my heart into it.
It's hard, but I think you'll find a way.

Admit that you made a mistake and apologize for hurting them.
Learn from your mistake and make sure to never repeat the wrong doing ever again. It may take them some time to trust you again but once they do, take special care to think before you do something else to break their heart. If you are unsure if you will be hurting them, ask yourself if your actions would hurt you if they did it to you. If it will hurt you it will hurt them!!!!!
