Just got married, no kids yet. We are looking for something economical, nice looking, around 25 - 30 grand. Anyone try the new chrysler seabring?

The new Sebring is easily the ugliest car that Chrysler has produced in the last 20 years, probably longer. Also, Chrysler has a long and proud history of making terrible automatic transmissions. Don't bother with it.

For that money, you could get a Subaru Legacy or Forester, and you'd be glad you did. Or a Honda Accord. Or an Acura TSX. Or a Mazda 6 (even a Mazdaspeed 6) Or a heavily optioned Mini. Or a Miata. Or just about anything. Hell, get a Chevy Impala/Monte Carlo. If you don't mind the interior materials, they're great cars.

Just don't get that train wreck of a Chrysler.

yeah, if you want quality and good re-sale, get a japanese or similar foreign car. Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Volkswagon are all excellent cars.Just check Consumer Reports. Hondas hold there re-sale value very well, which is a good thing for cars, since all they do is depreciate as soon as you drive them off the lot. I think GMC nows offers the 100k warranty which might be nice...but that wont mean anything if their quality still sucks and youre car is in the shop every other week. Buy Japanese!! and if you want the warranty you can pay a grand or so for Extended Warranty. Statistics dont lie...Foreign cars are superior.

i just bought the camry SE 2007. it has a body kit, racing steering wheel, sport suspension, and slightly narrower tires. so far, it's running like a dream. the handling is amazing, the turning radius is awesome, and the advanced braking makes up for the fact that i had to get auto instead of standard.

the big plus though is that since it's a camry, it's a solid family car so my wife is happy. if you don't get the same extras as i did, it only costs 22-24k. camrys have dropped in price recently.

and then, the gas mileage is great. i get 24 mpg when i don't run the ac, 20 when i do.
