How is a traditional banana split made?

get a bannana, put it in a dish or bowl..slice it in half (to where its split open) put 2-3 scoops of any ice cream atop the bannana..add, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, some ppl add whipped cream,(I don't usually like whipped cream though)..some people also add cookies to the base of the bannana..oh..and a cherry or..8.

wow I use to love going to the local Ice cream shop when I was growing up as a kid in Klamath Falls Ore, so much I worked in it when I turned 14. The way we made our splits back then (1975) was cut the banana in half one scoop of vanilla one scoop chocolate on scoop strawberry, pineapple on the vanilla Strawberry on the strawberry and chocolate on the chocolate (syrups) then lots of whipping cream generous sprinkle of peanuts and three marchino cherries.

In a banana boat dish place a banana split lengthwise. add one scoop each of Choclate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream. add chocolate, pineapple and marshmallow topping. Then add whipped cream, chopped nuts and cherries...
